Without further ado meet Mike Howard.
Where are you from originally?
Mike: Phenix City, AL
When did you realize you wanted to be an artist?
Mike: At 22 years old after I got out of Marine Corps and took an art class at Columbus College (at that time a 2 year college) I then transferred to University of Georgia.
Is art your main source of income?
Mike: Ha!
Education?
Mike: MFA Rutgers University
Influences?
Mike: Don Judd. I worked for Don 1969-71 while attending the Whitney Museum Ind. study program.
Favorite piece by another artist?
Mike: Raft of the Medusa [by French Painter and lithographer Theodore Géricault]
Favorite piece of your own?
Mike: I like my Gowanus paintings (good answer Mike!)

Mike: Acrylic
In which neighborhood do you live?
Mike: Red Hook
Where is your studio?
Mike: 4th St.
How did you get involved with ‘GO’?
Mike: Shelly Bernstein [Chief of Technology at the Brooklyn Museum]
What do you hope to achieve from ‘GO’?
Mike: Show some paintings I usually hide from the public.
