The Gowanus Canal Conservancy took time to upgrade a really unpleasant part of 3rd Avenue this weekend. On Saturday volunteers took to beautifying a section of 3rd Avenue from 3rd Street to the 718 Storage Facility. The volunteers got down & dirty and used shovels & rakes for cleaning and planting…

…and other tools for whatever’s going on here…

…to put in a garden with plants!

They put in a lot of plants…

…plants that probably have really long scientific names.

Plus, they put down some mulch to help these plants grow!

It’s going to make 3rd Avenue at 3rd Street a much nicer place to walk by!

So take a stroll and check it out!

Thanks you, Gowanus Canal Conservancy for greening our neighborhood!
