Well this is pretty sweet!
Sugar in my Soul is a vanilla extract made right here in Brooklyn from Tahitian Vanilla beans harvested in Papua New Guinea. The extract from Elisa & Armistead Booker is made by spitting each Tahitian Vanilla beans by hand a scraping out the the tiny vanilla packed seeds inside. These seeds are then placed in a gallon of high end vodka or bourbon for 3 months and left alone in a dark place. Finally the mix of booze and seeds are shaken up, at which time the alcohol extracts the flavor from the beans! Check out this video of the making of Sugar in my Soul below and support a Brooklyn makers by getting yourself a bottle at Elisa & Armistead Booker’s etsy store here.
