There’s all sorts of places to shop during the holiday season, but only one is filled with two weekends of pure awesome …

Brooklyn Craft Central (Sat. and Sun, Dec 15+16 & Dec 22+23) takes normal craft fairs and punches in the face! Ok, not really. But metaphorically it totally does. Why you ask? Cause it’s like fight club and…. No wait it’s not really like fight club… Sorry, not sure where the focus on fisticuffs is coming from. Oh wait, yes we do. It’s cause this event is badass and here’s 5 solid reasons why you are going…

1) It’s at Littlefield

You of course know Littlefield the 6200-square foot warehouse venue with shows like Kurt Braunohler and Kristin Schaal Hot Tub and former Daily Show’s Wyatt Cenac comedy show Night Train. (If you didn’t go to either of these, know we are totally giving you the stink eye). Aside from the celebratah’ that perfumes the joint, Littlefield is super close to where you live. It’s in a little neighborhood that we love called, Gowanus! Which is conveniently located in between your laziness and the fact that you need holiday gifts.

2) The Media is telling you to!

The following places have said you are going and you wouldn’t want to disappoint them: CBS Local NYC , GadlingTime Out New York,  New York MagazineGreenpointersHey MishkaPark Slope StoopBKLYNOTBKB,,  Industry MagazineBrooklyn Exposed,  The Voice, and GowanusYourFaceOff. Note that New York Mag is specifically telling you to “[t]ake advantage of the full bar serving up holiday cocktails while you pick up…local crafts and edibles.” Don’t make New York Mag cry by not going!

3) Booze and Food

You were told to have holiday cocktails and you will not be disappointed. The crafty event has the following red nosing drinks: Woolly Knit: hot cider w/ bourbon; Hot Glue: coffee & Kahlua, Shopaholic: gin, lemon, simple syrup, grenadine, and the Jeweler Cooler: Vodka, lime juice, ginger ale. Yum! As for food they’ve got you covered, since this event is during your normal brunch time (Sat & Sun 11am to 5pm). They’ll have: El Olomega – pupusas all days; Jessy’s Pastries: Peruvian Goodies – Empanadas, Quinoa Salad, and sweet Alfajores (Dec 15/16);  Roald Handrolls: Inspired handrolls, fresh and healthy (Dec 22/23).

4) The Vendors

This craft event has been around for 5 years! With like a million Brooklyn-based, crafty, brilliant vendors!

Vendors with apparel…

Vendors with stuff for your kitchen…

Vendors with art…

Vendors with stuff for your bath…

Vendors that have whatever the hell this is…

And so so so so so much more!

5) Because you do things last minute

Frankly, we already know you forgot that it’s gift giving season and we are really mad at you for not having a gift for us at the gift exchange party! Come on, not having a gift at a gift giving party, who do you think you are? We’d forgive you if you’d just get us this…

Yes, that is a Felted Happy Narwhal, that’s not only a great gift for us, but for anyone who has a soul. Take a look at it again. Doesn’t it just force you to get all big eyed and emotional! It’s already holiday season for many people you know and all the other holidays are pretty much here too. You have no choice but to go to the Brooklyn Craft Central event and do all your shopping at once!
