See what historians from  EPA and archaeologist Army Corps of Engineers have to say: Ghosts of the Gowanus by Miriam Coleman

  • Gowanus Inch by Inch

Over the past few years Gowanus has changed dramatically. Buildings have come and gone. Industrial buildings and homes have been erased. Things have changed. In our ongoing series titled Gowanus Inch by Inch we try and capture the neighborhood as it is in this moment in time.

Today we present a view of a parking lot off of Nevins Street. This parking lot is used by many industrial businesses from truck repair to a demolition/excavation groups. It is a classic image of properties along the Gowanus Canal.
